Launch of AFCC News across Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire
A Newsletter aimed at raising awareness of the Armed Forces Community Covenant across Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire is being launched this month. The local Community Covenant reflects the nations promise and is a pledge from the community that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, will be treated fairly and will not be disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives. This includes offering extra support to injured servicemen and women and bereaved families, where appropriate.
The Community Covenant partnership across Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire includes all the Local Authorities, the NHS, Service charities such as The Royal British Legion, SSAFA and the Veterans’ Contact Point in Nuneaton as well as military units within the area.
The AFCC Newsletter covers the work of the partnership over the past few years, including successful bids to the AF Covenant Fund. It also showcases the Ex-Armed Forces mental health project from Coventry and Warwickshire partnership Trust picking up two ‘Highly Commended’ awards at the National Positive Practice Mental Health Awards.
The AFCC Newsletter can be downloaded from http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/afccnews. For more information about the local Community Covenant please go to www.warwickshire.gov.uk/armedforcescommunitycovenant
