Severe Weather Warning February 15th

PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR ROUGH SLEEPERS AND NOTIFY SCH 0121 717 1515

The weather forecast for the forthcoming period (15/02/16 – 16/02/16) is for below zero temperatures.

Due to the current weather conditions SWEP has now been activated. We will continue to review the weather forecast and SWEP will continue to be in place until you are advised otherwise.

We aim to prevent harm and loss of life and to reduce the number of people rough sleeping on the streets.

Anyone sleeping rough on the streets of Solihull tonight will be provided with emergency accommodation where they agree to assistance. Some people may think that if a rough sleeper has no ‘Local Connection’ to the Borough they will not be offered help but this is not the case. When SWEP is activated the usual criteria for determining homelessness does not apply and anyone who is sleeping rough can be referred for assistance in finding somewhere safe and warm to sleep.

Please therefore ensure that you are particularly alert in terms of identifying, reporting and responding to the needs of any people that may be sleeping rough across the Borough.

Please notify Solihull Community Housing of anyone sleeping rough by phoning 0121 717 1515.
