Volunteers Improve Alcott Wood Park
Employees from some of Solihull’s businesses joined forces last week for a day of environmental work. Around 25 volunteers headed down to Alcott Wood Park on Friday 20 June to carry out environmental and access improvements.
The improvements included laying new footpaths, clearing back vegetation, painting fences and creating better access to the Chelmsley Wood beauty spot. Volunteers on the day were representatives from Jaguar Land Rover, Environment Agency, E H Smith, Draintech Services, Hardyman, and NEC Group – member organisations of the Solihull Sustainability Visioning Group.
Joe McNamara, Chair of the Group and Lean Manufacturing Manager at Jaguar Land Rover, said: “It’s great to see so many volunteers from Solihull businesses really getting stuck in and working together to enhance the enjoyment of this local park. Solihull Sustainability Visioning Group is delighted to support the Love Solihull campaign and encourage its members to carry out volunteering work for the benefit of the local community.”
