West Midland Combined Authority Consultation

As you may know Solihull Council has been working with neighbouring councils over the last year to develop plans for closer co-operation on our shared goals. The government will shortly be formally considering whether it is appropriate and in the region’s best interests to establish a West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). Parliament will be asked to approve it so that it can be set up in the summer.

Ahead of this the WMCA partners are consulting on the ‘Scheme’ document which describes the role and functions of the proposed Combined Authority. This consultation will run from 18 January to 08 February 2016.

There is a short survey and further information on the WMCA website and your feedback would be welcomed alongside any additional comments that you would like to make.

The Council’s leadership believe that by working together with other authorities Solihull has a tremendous opportunity to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians who know this region best.

Please do take the time to have your say by visiting the front page of the WMCA website
